Val Buesching

Owner & Trainer

Val began riding at Red Coat Farm when she was 11 and jumped right into her competitive career on the NIHJA circuit.  Following her passion for horses, she attended the University of Kentucky and earned a Bachelor’s degree in equine science.  While in college, Val competed on the intercollegiate level.  After graduation, Val returned home to Red Coat and began teaching lessons.  Since then, she has revealed her talent for starting young children on the path to success.  Val has had students win number champion awards on the NIHJA circuit.  Val’s ability to combine hard work with the enjoyment of riding has encouraged and inspired students of all ages.



Sari Reid


Sari has been in the horse industry since a very young age.  She has 15 years of experience working as a professional.  Sari works with students of all levels.  Her students compete on both the NIHJA and “A” show circuits.  In addition to her teaching, Sari is also a very talented rider.  She rides hunters and jumpers of all levels.  Some of her showing highlights include competing up to 1.40m, showing in young jumpers, showing in international hunter and jumper futurities, and showing client’s horses.  She has also started and helped bring along many young horses.

Kim Woodsum


Kim began riding at the age of 9.  Throughout her junior career, she competed in the children’s and junior hunters, children’s jumpers, and the 3’6″ equitation divisions.  She qualified and competed at the Washington International Horse Show.  After high school, Kim attended Baylor University where she earned a scholarship for the equestrian team, and helped the team earn their only National Championship title.  Upon graduation, she worked as a school teacher in Houston.  Now Kim has returned to Red Coat Farm as an instructor and rider.
